The company is first founded by Captain Eric Hassell, nicknamed “Peace” after the beloved schooner vessel he worked on as a boy.
After 40 years working at sea, Eric establishes the company with his son, Geoffrey. At the time, the agency handled almost one-hundred inter-island freighters frequenting Barbados.

Eric Hassell passes away in 1994, leaving the business in the hands of his son, Geoffrey Hassell. The company is subsequently led by Frank Hassell (another son of Eric), followed by Erica Luke (his granddaughter).

She is active in promoting women’s leadership and comm initiatives in Barbados, with a strong background in strategic growth and operations.
Alan is the Group Operations Manager at Eric Hassell Shipping, bringing over 25 years of experience in shipping, logistics, and financial operations. He oversees vessel coordination, agency relations, and service delivery across multiple cargo types. With a background at Massy Shipping and Seawell Air Services, he excels in optimizing maritime operations and stakeholder engagement across the Caribbean.
Sandra is an experienced Group Financial Manager with over 10 years in shipping and prior roles in telecommunications and accounting services. Skilled in financial reporting, strategic planning, process automation, and team leadership, she has a strong background in auditing, compliance, and system upgrades, with a commitment to corporate responsibility and community engagement.
Liam is a dynamic business development professional with expertise in shipping, logistics, and contract management. He has led sales and marketing initiatives, secured major regional accounts, and improved operational efficiency through data-driven strategies and strong industry partnerships. Liam has 5 years of experience in international logistics from his time at a global shipping carrier in New York City and holds a BBA Business Management from Rollins College.
Stephanie Bovelle has over two decades of experience at Eric Hassell Shipping, steadily advancing from Sales Representative to Sales Manager for Seaboard Marine. She brings extensive expertise in shipping logistics, client service, and regional trade across the Caribbean market.
Damani Kirton has served as an Account Executive at Blue Waters Shipping since 2015, managing client accounts for MSC. He specializes in customer service, logistics coordination, and supporting efficient container shipping across regional and international trade routes.
